Calais migrants: UK and France beef up security

Dozens of French anti-riot police were deployed to contain the escalating migrant crisis in Calais on Wednesday after a man was killed when 1,500 migrants stormed the Channel tunnel in a bid to reach the UK.

The French authorities are sending 120 armed police to the area as Theresa May, home secretary, demanded an urgent improvement in security but offered no new concrete measures or manpower to help the French.
