Eurotunnel operator in Calais running out of fencing to stop migrants

French factory workers on holiday have left Eurotunnel authorities struggling to source the fencing needed to protect the Channel Tunnel from being breached by migrants.

While new razor wire fencing has been erected in recent days, desperately-needed supplies are running thin with factories across the channel closed or running minimal staff since July 15, it has been reported.

Fencing is one of the few measures at the disposal of French and British authorities – who are struggling prevent migrants desperate to reach Britain from accessing the tunnel.
